Our Locations

YWAM Marromeu works in 3 locations: the village of Marromeu, the locality of Nensa, and the Zambezi Delta.

Marromeu
Marromeu is the last village that can be reached by road before the Zambezi Delta. The village has an open air market, hospital, bakery, gas station, bank, police station, shops, train station, and sugar company.
Staff in town live in their own homes and work within the community providing mercy ministries.

Nensa
Nensa is 30 kilometers west of Marromeu. YWAM's training base is located here and is 176 hectares. On the base are staff houses, dormitories, office, cafeteria, training facilities, primary school, rice fields, and plenty of space to enjoy God's nature.
The base here focuses on education offering a preschool, primary school, and on occasion retreats, DTS, and other training schools.

Zambezi Delta
The Zambezi Delta is east of Marromeu and is where the Zambezi River meets the Indian Ocean. We partner with Mercy Air to reach about 50 communities throughout 3 districts providing evangelism, education, healthcare, and agriculture. Many of these communities take 3 days by canoe to reach or about 30 minutes by helicopter.

We visit these communities every few months via helicopter and in the past staff have lived in some of the villages.
